A vengeful father escapes from hell and chases after the men who killed his daughter and kidnapped his granddaughter.

Although it bogs down a little in the middle with close to cliché action, the first and last thirds are prime - grade A - PULP! This is the best use of 3D since AVATAR. Although it's very different, Drive Angry has a touch of a theological theme. Forget about supernatural sequels. The Angels and Demons here are much more interesting and faceted than those in the usual "drive-in movie" parody.

Drive Angry is what MACHETE promised to be, but wasn't.
In the Middle Ages morality plays superficially provided instruction in religion, but eventually became extravagant comedy/dramas based on religious themes. Drive Angry, a 3D explosion of sex, violence and mythology is in the same tradition and that puts it centuries ahead of the typical thriller/horror movie in continual recycle today.

• Continuity: First time that Milton enters Piper's car he gets in to the passenger seat with the window up. When they show the interior shot of the car, the passenger window is down.
  
• Factual errors: Katy Mixon's name is misspelled "Kathy" during the scrolling credits.
  
• Factual errors: The police/state troopers in Oklahoma were wearing the wrong uniform. The uniform with the cowboy hat resembles the Texas State Trooper uniform. The Oklahoma State Trooper uniform is dark brown with a brown round brim hat.

Storyline

TRON: Legacy has been one of the most promoted films of the year. With a monstrous budget (around $200 million) and reports saying that Disney is worried that the film isn't tracking as well as they'd hoped, the initial thought process from these rumors is that the 

TRON sequel will open to a disappointing first place weekend much like the most recent Chronicles of Narnia film. As of this writing, I haven't gotten around to seeing the original film. I wanted to, but thanks to Disney it was pretty much pulled from every retail store imaginable whether you wanted to rent or purchase the film at least until next year. The urge to see

TRON: Legacy didn't really sink in until around the time the third trailer was released. While the Daft Punk score has interested me from the beginning, TRON: Legacy just seemed like another overrated piece of eye candy that fan boys were getting excited about. The thing about first impressions though is that they always have the opportunity to be wrong.

TRON: Legacy is certainly the special effects extravaganza it's been made out to be all year. Its fantastic effects certify the sequel as being the most visually appealing film of the year. While the writing of the film isn't quite as polished as the special effects, there certainly seems to be a good enough balance to keep the film afloat and deliver an extremely entertaining way to kill two hours. As far as eye candy goes,

TRON: Legacy is an incredible and all around awesome experience.

 The cast is about as developed as can be expected. The real star of the film is Garrett Hedlund, who does a pretty decent job of carrying the film and being generally astonished that not only was his father alive but the extraordinary world he always talked about actually existed. Jeff Bridges' performance isn't nearly as strong as his portrayal of Rooster Cogburn in True Grit, but he does have his moments. He seems to shine during his reunion with Hedlund and his strongest scenes are with Hedlund alone while being rather flat the rest of the time. Olivia Wilde's Quorra is interesting, as well. There's an intriguing twist to her character, but her fascination and curiosity revolving around the world Sam is from is what gives her character heart. Michael Sheen did seem a bit too over the top at times as Castor, but that may have been the point. The biggest surprise was seeing Cillian Murphy cameo. Given his strong outings in films like Sunshine, Peacock, and Inception, it just left me wanting to see more of his character in future installments assuming this film does well enough to warrant a sequel (or sequels).

Storyline

Inspired by the most notorious missing person's case in New York history, ALL GOOD THINGS is a love story and murder mystery set against the backdrop of a New York real estate dynasty in the 1980s. Produced and directed by Andrew Jarecki (director of the Academy Award-nominated doc Capturing the Friedmans and producer of Catfish), the film was inspired by the story of Robert Durst, scion of the wealthy Durst family. Mr. Durst was suspected but never tried for killing his wife Kathie who disappeared in 1982 and was never found. The film stars Ryan Gosling, Kirsten Dunst and Frank Langella as the powerful patriarch, and captures the emotion and complexity of this real-life unsolved mystery.

ABOUT SONG 

•  Anachronisms: The first scene from New York is stated to take place in 1971. The background music is Steely Dan's "Daddy Don't Live In That New York City No More". However, this track is from the group's album 'Katy Lied', released in 1975.
•  Anachronisms: The song playing when David Marks is in the phone booth near the beginning of the movie was not released until 1975. The movie lists 1971 as the year in which this scene takes place.
